The Cabinet of Dr Caligari

This week I will be providing improvised piano accompaniment to the Expressionist silent German classic, "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari", at BFI Southbank. The screening will be on Thursday 15th April 2010 at 6pm in NFT1, and will also feature the rarely-screened silent short film, "The Fugitive Futurist: A Q-riosity by 'Q' ", which I will accompany too. Piano Recital on Valentine's Day

I will be giving a solo piano recital at the Hellenic Centre in central London on Sunday 14th February at 6:30pm. My programme will be as follows:

I will be providing improvised piano accompaniment to two silent films by one of cinema's greatest masters, Yasujiro Ozu, at the beginning of January. Details of the screenings are as follows:

Buster Keaton at Hither Green Hall

I shall be providing improvised piano accompaniment to Keaton's "The Ballonatic" (1923) on 18th October 2009 as part of Hither Green Cinema Day. It will form part of a series of events to help save the local cinema in Hither Green Lane and to promote the need for a cinema and arts centre in the area.

Piano Recital at Lancaster Cathedral

I will be giving a solo piano recital at Lancaster Cathedral on 6th November 2009. My programme will be as follows:

World Premiere of New Choral Work

My new work for unaccompanied choir, "St Paul's", will be performed for the first time by the choir of City of London Boys' School on 2nd November 2009, at the school's annual Lord Mayor's Prize Day held at Guildhall. The music is a setting of words from the poem of the same name by William Wordsworth. The piece is due to be performed again and recorded on 17th November at the school's Autumn Concert.

Silent Film Accompaniment at London Film Festival

I shall be providing improvised piano accompaniment to the beautiful silent Norwegian film, "Laila" (1929), on 29th October 2009, the closing night of this year's London Film Festival. For further details and to book tickets, click here.
